Organizational sustainability identity: Constructing oneself as sustainable

In the literature, organizational sustainability identity tends to be treated as something that is ‘engineered’ within business organizations through control, reporting, target setting, strategic communication, and other instruments. Through a case study of company mainly active recycling industry, an alternative understanding given. A distinct is, rather, social construct based on perceptions core operations “sustainable in themselves” collaborative work with customers perceived entailing sustainable solutions. Understood this way, has relatively little do formal controls such codes, policies, reports used by management position sustainable. Rather, for members, process constructing oneself builds convictions about possession specific capabilities manifested customer relations.
